Conservation Framing

What is conservation framing?

To put it simply, conservation framing is a method of framing that preserves and protects artwork by using materials that have been proven to protect and maintain art in as close to its original condition as possible.

Conservation framing minimizes deterioration due to environment and acidic materials. If artwork is not properly framed in a preservation manner, it can fade, yellow, stain, even be burned by acids in inferior framing materials - causing irreparable damage and loss of value and beauty.

In addition, preservation framing protects the integrity and value - be it monetary or emotional - of all your artwork, photographs and memorabilia, preserving and protecting for the enjoyment of the next generation.

Fast Framing

The concept of the "Fast Frame" was originated and developed by Phil Ripley. Phil realized the numerous advantages to artists, art students and photographers alike, the need for a simple, easy to use, cost efficient selling tool. These interchangeable affordable frames can be used and reused to display their art. Pictures always look better framed, and there is no easier method then the "Fast Frame!"

The "Fast Frame" enables the consumer to change pictures in a matter of seconds, by simply rotating the turnbuckles on the back of the frame and opening the door. The picture can then be removed by slipping it out of the bottom corner holders or in cases of thinner paper by removing the framers tape at the top. The new piece can then be inserted and the procedure reversed.

"Fast Frames" are made in all popular sizes from 8" x 10" photograph size up to 16" x 24" poster size. Advantages over other ready-made picture frames are that they can be colour coordinated to a particular scheme. All the materials used in manufacturing are of conservation or museum quality. This means that only the finest acid free materials are used; thus protecting the quality of the artwork or piece it holds.
